Hong Kong (Jour 2)

Pour cette deuxième journée à Hong Kong, je me suis éloigné du tumulte urbain pour chercher un peu de paix… et je suis tombé sur un géant en bronze qui me regardait depuis le sommet d’une montagne.

Direction Lantau Island pour aller saluer le célèbre Bouddha Tian Tan, l’un des plus grands Bouddhas assis en bronze au monde.
Le Bouddha domine les montagnes et l’océan comme s’il surveillait toute la région.
On se sent minuscule, mais étrangement apaisé.

Juste à côté, le monastère de Po Lin m’a accueilli avec ses gigantesques brûleurs d’encens, ses dorures et sa sérénité presque irréelle. C’est l’un des lieux bouddhistes les plus importants de Hong Kong, fondé par des moines venus du continent.

On this second day in Hong Kong, I left the urban jungle to look for peace, and found a giant bronze Buddha staring at me from the mountains.

I headed to Lantau Island to visit the famous Tian Tan Buddha, one of the world’s largest seated bronze Buddhas.
Once at the top, the view was stunning: mountains, sea, and the Buddha looking serene and majestic over everything below.
Instant calm.

Next door sits the peaceful Po Lin Monastery, filled with incense, golden statues, and intricate architecture.
