Passing time in Singapore before flying

Despite a comfy bed in the Crowne plaza hotel terminal 3 Singapore airport, I woke at 7am thanks to reconditioning due to the jungle. It was a good job , as I realised I'd done an Electronic Tourist Declaration but needed an Electronic Travel Advice document (ETA)
The ETA website was down for maintenance till sun 25/5/25 and then could take 72hrs to process
I had visions of missing my flight because of this
I decided to walk into the airport next door to the hotel and speak with Singapore Airlines staff .A nice young guy who was tech savvy told me I could sort this via an app once downloaded, so i did that and he sorted everything else. Ultimately I came away with my boarding pass at 8.30am...phew
Returned to the hotel for breakfast and a rest in my room.
At 11.45 I went for a taxi to Raffles as I was meeting Dawn from the group for a Singapore Sling.
Afterwards we went in the Raffles shop...Dawn was itchy to go sight seeing, so we parted company.
I remained in the shop ,photographing things I'd like to buy but couldn't afford or carry....or both
Eventually the Indian Concierge in his amazing uniform, who told me he'd recently come from Punjab, called me a cab back to the airport.
Once there ,I set about trying to find the slide I'd been told about, tho staff were unclear where it was ....found it eventually and of course had to have a go.
Returned to the hotel ,collected my bags and went to check in,at Terminal 3 .As it was only 5pm.I went to the Business class lounge ,Math and I had a video chat and then I had a half hour walk to the departure gate.Initially I'd come through security at Terminal 3 ,so when the departure board said go to Terminal 1 I was rather concerned but all was well and I used the Skytrain Monorail to get there which took 2mins not the otherwise 30mins walk.
Very fortunate but bittersweet to be flying Singapore business class .I will compare with my beloved Emirates!Læs mere
