Flight with Delta, left Boston at 6am, arrived at 10:30am after a 1hr layover in Atlanta. Paul picked us up at the airport.

After checkin we walked into the French quarter and had po' boys at Johnny Po'Boy. Wandered to St..... Square by the Cathedral and bought a piece of art.

Walked back through to Bourbon Street stopping at Pat O'Brien's. We had hurricanes and hand grenades. Dinner was at Port O Call, we had cheeseburgers. Spent the rest of the night sitting and wandering around Bourbon Street.Read more

Went to Cafe du Monde for beneits and coffee. Walked around St.....Square, shopping. Meandered back through Bourbon Street to hotel. Checked out and left hotel.

Had "lunch" at (Multae?): gumbo, boudin, jambalaya (wasn't very good).

Checked in to ship and explored.

Dinner in the Versailles dining room
M: mushroom soup and surf & turf
S: broccoli soup and surf & turf.

At Sea

An uneventful day.

Spent most of the morning relaxing by the pool. Did a Texas holdem tourney around late morning. That occupied time until early afternoon. After tourney, we met up and ended up in the hot tub at front of the ship. 50mph winds, white caps in hot tub. Got a bucket of beers and met some interesting people.

After a quick change, had drinks in Star Bar and met some nice retirees from Missouri (David).
Dinner was nice at Aqua dining room. M: curry chicken and shrimp and chimichurri .... S: mushroom quesadilla and perch. P: mushroom quesadilla and ribeye.

After dinner and the show, we went to bed.

Costa Maya, Mexico

Early day, breakfast at buffet
Off ship around 11AM
Took taxi from Costa Maya to Mahahual, $2 each way
Spent the day at the beach at Tropicante "resort" (really just a section of the beach). S got a massage for $25 on the beach. Food total $28, Drinks $38 for beer all day.
Did some swimming and sun bathing. Spent some time shopping. Bought cigars, chess set, lizard art and coconut drinks.

Taxi back to the port, Showered and relaxed for a short while
Dinner: M: red snapper and Pork burrito, S: cheese soup, mushroom risotto.
Show at Stardust: Dimitri and Maria, acrobats.

Belize City, Belize

After an early wakeup and breakfast at the buffet, we were off to Belize via tender. Boarded bus to learn a bit of history on the tour from Derek. 1 Hour drive to dock for boats to Lamanai ruins.

Here Wilfred, took over and guided the boats to the ruins for an hour ride. Along the way we spotted various wildlife: monkey, crane, stork, parrot, crocodile, and other various birds. The ruins themselves consisted of 3 structures "temple of the jaguar" "temple with the mount" and "mask temple". Wilfredo was very knowledgeable about the ruins and guided us through the 3 sites. After the return to the dock, we had lunch and did some shopping. We bought a wooden bowl.

Bus ride back to the port and did some more shopping before finally taking tender back to ship.

Trivia and dinner. M: gnocchi in pumpkin, tilapia & plantains, strawberry sherbet. S: quesadilla, salad, tilapia, chicken .

Pool, hot tub, cigars with Paul, etc. Room service and bed.Read more

Roatan, Honduras

Breakfast in Versailles after early rising. Food was the same as buffet, some items were fresher, like salmon benedict, scottish kipper.

Went shopping in Roatan before Scuba.

Roatan was a big surprise. It was beautiful, friendly and just really cool. Shops around the terminal were pricey. Exchange rate was 20 to 1 on this side of the island. Paul got 13 beers for ~$20

Scuba was a blast and beat my expectations. Paul & Sherilyn both had nothing bad to say about it. Pete and John guided us. Small group (7). three didn't participate after the initial instruction. Same schools of fish, coral and an undersea reef. Dive was ~25min after a 20min training session.

On the drive back, driver brought us to the west end where Paul got the beers.

After trivia, we relaxed on the top deck under stars/breeze. Quick shower/change and we went to Versailles for dinner and a show (Second City comedy). After which we returned to the room.Read more

Cozumel, Mexico

Early wakeup and breakfast at buffet. Went into town without any plans. We went shopping and walked around through the city. Lunch was at La Mission, which was delicious and pretty authentic. It was rainy and grey most of the day, so not a great day to do much in Cozumel.

Flights home on US Airways via Charlotte. Left New Orleans at 11AM, home at 6PM with 3hr layover in Charlotte. Flights were booked via Expedia.

Notes about the cruise:
-Bring more sunscreen. 3 oz of spray only lasted 3.5 days. Had to buy on ship for $13
-Bring a hat
-Bring 2 bathing suits. Lots of beach days.
-Buy a case of water in port city.
-Brrnig aloe. Was $8 on ship
-Smuggle booze in small water bottles
-Refill those bottles in port!
-Do not bring briefcase, bring backpack/beach bag
-Bungee cords, surge protector, febreeze, highlighter, pens, pedometer
-limit underwear/socks (socks only if expecting shorts)
