We had a great night with Robbie, family and friends. We missed Zali and Anneliese.

We left Rachael and Robbie's and headed to Wilton to catch up with Peter and Anne for a cuppa, then on to Clare and Geoff Reinhard's for a night with them in the Southern Highlands.

Day 2 in the Highlands

Geoff and Clare took us and the dogs for a drive to Berrima where we stopped and had morning tea at Gumnut Patisserie and had a walk around the village; on the way home we visited Julia, Clare's sister. It was a beautiful day, the weather was glorious. Clare cooked a delicious fish curry for dinner.En savoir plus

Day 3 in the Highlands

Another surprisingly beautiful day in the Highlands. We left Clare and Geoff's and visited Harris Farm Market and then moved on to Terry and Annette's in Mittagong. Terry had made his delicious scones with jam and cream. In the afternoon we were going to visit Melanie and Graham but they were not home. At 4:30 we headed off to Tim and Lucy's for the evening. We visited our old house in Colo Vale with the new owner. We walked through the house and gardens.

Tim, Lucy, Angus and Eden were great. It was really lovely seeing them again. Whilst at Tim and Lucy's we accepted an offer on our house and sold it.En savoir plus

We visited Milan and Maria. We didn't know Milan had had a stroke last July and is still recovering. Maria hasn't changed.

We did catch up with Graham and Melanie before heading off to Epping to see Uncle Geoffrey and Narelle.

We had a beautiful dinner with Narelle, Uncle Geoffrey, Allister, Claire, Anneliese and Jay.En savoir plus

Epping, Balmoral & Murrurundi

Whilst Geoff walked with Narelle to the Porcelain House, their new house still under construction but hoping to move in at the end of May, I walked the dogs. We then left Epping for Balmoral where we met and had lunch with Peter and a friend of his Shondell at the Boathouse. It was lovely. Because of our need to get home we left after lunch and reached Murrurundi. Here we stayed at the old Royal Hotel and had a glass of wine at the beautiful old Royal pub. Murrurundi & Guyra

Murrurundi is a beautiful town. We attempted to walk to The Eye of the Needle at Paradise Park but it was too steep and rocky, especially for the dogs but the park is glorious. Next time we visit we will walk across the Swing Bridge.

We stopped in Armidale for lunch and then moved on to Mother of Ducks Lagoon at Guyra for the night. This is another fabulous spot, beautiful birds and if you're lucky you'll see tortoises.En savoir plus

We're on our way home. Should be there late afternoon.

It was 1 degree in Guyra last night and when we left it was 4. The town was hoping for a maximum temperature of 14. The locals say this is not bad for the time of the year. We went for a walk through the town last night and it has a lovely feel to it. The Mother of Ducks Lagoon is a beautiful place to stay and it is paradise for the birdlife. The black swans are enormous.

Stopped at Tenterfield for morning tea and a walk around. Beautiful old buildings except what Mitre Ten has done with their signage. I'm going to send an email to the council letting them know as a tourist what I think of the sign.
