    Into the wild

    October 8, 2022 in Iceland ⋅ 🌧 39 °F

Yesterday, woke up early to escape the campground jerks. Thankfully this cute French couple gave us their coins to share a 5min shower (you have to pay). It was pouring rain and about 35mph winds. Drove to this cool gorge and it was too much for Chels. So I jumped out and hiked to the overlook. BEAUTIFUL. Somehow the weather hasn’t taken away from the experience but has only added to it. We have warnings that a storm is coming. Up to 110mph+ wind in this area. But todays all day rain stopped for us just before our glacier hike and cave tour. All we can say is it was EPIC. We’ve seen such things on TV and in movies, but to be in the scenery is something else. We got fuel for the first time! Diesel for us in this camper. $8.50 per gallon is a bit however we’re getting between 45-50mpg. The color of gas and diesel is switched here. So we took our time to not mix it up.
Went to our campsite for the best pizza we’ve had in a while (lobster pizza) and passed out for the night at our campsite that was ran by an 10-12 year old.
