We visited the beautiful gardens at Sissinghurst Castle on Dad's 80th Birthday and really enjoyed the gorgeous planting schemes as well as the sunshine! The planting was amazingly dense with harmonious & matching colours cascading down from the brick walls to the tiniest of front of border plants. the daisy meadow in front of the Oast House was stunning and the rose garden init's mid summer prime. And of course the white garden was exceedingly - well white !En savoir plus

When Joyce came to visit we made the most of a dull-ish day & headed up to our nearest National Trust property at Dinefwr where we were able to visit Newton House - Joyce had many memories of visiting this with Les as he had undertaken the Emergency Site plan for this property when he volunteered for the National Trust. We walked down the Boardwalk in the woods through the bog lands & down to the pond. Then we went over & looked around the house & had a coffee in the cafe. The NT have now made arrangements for disabled drivers to drive across a very large & steep field & up to the Castle so we were able to see around the quite impressive ruins for the first time too.En savoir plus

Rhossili & the Worm's Head

It was Michaela's birthday today & we spent the afternoon walking down the Worm's Head with it's stunning views of Rhossii Beach. After a lovely healthy Budda Bowl lunch shared with my sister we set off down the peninsula. It's the first time in about 4 trips that the weather has ever been warm & not so windy that we've had to turn back - we actually got to walk down to the very end ! The boys even climbed down to the beach at the foot of the cliff - the tide was in so the causeway was covered in by the sea & the rip tides were visible from the cliff top.En savoir plus
