Isla de Ometepe

One island in the middle of a massive lake (with sharks, theoretically...), two volcanos, three (or four?) days of relaxation and adventure. It's Isla de Ometepe, a beautiful Island a few hours away from Antigua. Here, we relaxed at our lakeside hostel and rented a motorbike to tour around. It was so peaceful... Just little villages, banana and coffee plantations, and the two mountains towering above. It's not easy to capture the essence from a few photos, but Ometepe was definitely one of our favourite places in Nicaragua, and we would return in an instant.

Eine Insel inmitten eines riesigen Sees (theoretisch mit Haien...), zwei Vulkane, drei (oder vier?) Tage voller Entspannung und Abenteuer. Das ist die Isla de Ometepe, eine wunderschöne Insel ein paar Stunden von Antigua entfernt. Hier entspannten wir uns in unserer Herberge am See und mieteten uns ein Motorrad, um die Insel zu erkunden. Es war so friedlich... Nur kleine Dörfer, Bananen- und Kaffeeplantagen und die beiden Berge, die sich über uns erhoben. Es ist nicht einfach, das Wesentliche auf ein paar Fotos einzufangen, aber Ometepe war definitiv einer unserer Lieblingsorte in Nicaragua, und wir würden sofort wiederkommen.Read more
