Day 14: Stia to Consuma

Another day of fantastic walking along the Way. It was hard, there was a lot of climbing, but it was well worth the effort (18.11 km, ascent 1085 m, descent 507 m). As I was climbing up a steep section of road a woman in an Ape vehicle offered me a lift - I declined, automatically, and kicked myself for a good five minutes afterwards, as I've always wanted to take a ride in one of those. What a dill! The only wildlife I saw (and heard) were the birds - there are so many of them. Thankfully, I did not see any "Protection" dogs or their livestock. I also saw a lot of hikers, some must have been pilgrims, but it's getting harder to tell.Read more
