Camino de Santiago

That's a popular saying about the Camino. I am not sure about that. I always thought you had to do something to make anything happen, but maybe there is a bit of truth to it. Here are some examples in my first 150 miles:

When my phone was stolen, complete strangers helped figure out a way for me to contact Cindy and Mom on top of the Pyrennes so they would not worry about me

When I was finishing up my day and going to a Parish Hostel that has shared meals, I realized it was Sunday and no stores would be open. I turned the bend and laying on the ground was a beautiful cucumber! It was a fabulous addition to the salad.

When I get especially tired, there just happens to be delicious blackberry bushes and soon I am refreshed and ready to go again.

I spent a couple challenging hours listening to a young lady who is going to make it big in París as a writer and artist after her Camino (she's from Snohomish, of all places) and I happened to take the bike camino turn instead of the walkers arrow and received 5 hours of solitude.

I was exhauted after going up, yet another hill, and sat down on the bench on top next to an older lady. I found out she was 77 and walking with her 2 young grandchildren before school begins. She has walked the Camino 17 times! She was also an educator for 45 yrs. She inspired me to keep walking to the next town.

I fell asleep early at the hostel while everyone else went out to eat and drink. When I awoke, someone had put bread, nut mix, dark chocolate and tuna fish by my cot so I would have food for the road.
