Queenstown

Ach ja.. Queenstown. Folgendes ist passiert: geplant war , dass ich am 22.4 nach Lake Tekapo weiterfahre. Das hat sich aber ganz schnell erledigt, als wir dann alle feststellten, dass wir nach unserer garantierten Nacht obdachlos waren. Über Ostern ist Queenstown so ausgebucht, dass es weder Hostel, Hotel, AirBnB oder ähnliches gab. Also entschied Kiwi ein paar Expressbusse nach Christchurch fahren zu lassen, weil weder Platz in Queenstown, noch Lake Tekapo für uns ist. Ziemlich nervig, wenn du eigentlich 3 Nächte garantiert bekommst, aber das Büro es nicht auf die Reihe bekommt, dass du diese bekommst. Wie auch immer, ich hatte beide Nächte ein Bett, konnte aber leider nicht so viel tun.
Wir haben dann erst gefrühstückt und ich bin alle Möglichkeiten hoch und runter gegangen, um zu entscheiden, was ich denn nun tue. Dann wurde ich wegen eines Angebots noch gezwungen, diesen doch sehr tollen Fleecepulli zu kaufen.
Nach ein wenig Zeit am See, haben wir uns dann entschlossen noch den Ben Lumond zu gehen, aber sind dann zu spät los und haben nur den Gondeltrack gemacht, aber die Aussicht war wunderschön und Jen und Cameron haben den Weg auch erträglich gemacht. Abends dann noch Pizza und nach langer Diskussion dann auch noch eine Bar und dann hieß es leider nächster Stop Christchurch.

Well, Queenstown. Originally I would have departed on the 22nd but the office screwed a few things and I ended up having no accommodation and I'm taking the Expressbus to Christchurch on the 19th. So I technically had only one day in beautiful Queenstown. I have to skip Lake Tekapo which sucks because I obviously paid for it plus I didn't get my 3 guaranteed nights in Queenstown. However I luckily had a bed for those 2 nights but a lot of travelers were just homeless and slept on floors and in other beds.
Unfortunately 1 day is not enough in Queenstown. So I ended up having a good brekkie and trying to figure what to do, if I'm heading south or north, if I'm trying to stay... Afterwards Jen forced me to buy a fleece which I didn't want but I'm actually quite happy now that I have it.
After a couple of hours at the lake we decided to walk the Ben Lumond but we started to late and that's why we only did the Gondola track. Cameron and Jen made this way less hard and the view at the top was absolutely stunning.
We made our way down and met up for pizza and after a long long discussion I ended up in a bar for 2 hours. That's pretty much it and now it's time for Christchurch and even more decisions.Read more
