• Ferry and North Sydney

We were up early and were very happy we couldn't hear or feel any wind. We heard the ferry horn late last night so we thought that the overnight ferry had sailed. We were a little anxious about the ferry being overbooked so even though we had a reservation we decided to line up really early. Lots of others had made the same decision so we had company in the line up. The sun was shining and it felt warmer than in days. There was a full line of atvs and side by sides beside us, most from Nova Scotia. There was also tons of hunters, many from the US and as far away as Florida. Many of them were towing trailers with multiple chest freezers being run by generators. Lots of moose and bear in the freezers. Lots of antlers in back of trucks and trailers. Lots of camouflage clothing. The ferry was crowded and finding seats was a bit of a challenge. We couldn't find a table in the lounge so we sat in reclining seats in the back. There were a couple of tour buses so lots of people wearing lanyards. Funny the trip was much shorter, only 6 hours but it seemed longer. The seas were good, a gentle roll you could feel when you walked, but comfortable. It was getting close to dusk when we arrived so we found a parking spot close by near the yacht club. Unfortunately their bar was closed but there was a nice trail so we got some exercise.Read more
