The Trip Ends

We stopped for a short break at Westwood. In the trees are thousands of flying foxes. The coal train shunting past disturbed them and they were flying about and landing.
Lake Bundoora is near to the German creek coal mines. Controlled by the coal companies, camping is allowed for up to 4 days per visit.
Today there were many birds on the water.
While near Clermont we were lucky enough to see some amazing sunsets.
Hoods lagoon in Clermont is a nice place to relax or have an outing with family. The council have done a lot here over the years to make it a special place for the people in the town and the manyもっと詳しく
In 1916 Clermont was flooded and many lives were lost. There is a memorial marker and nearby a piano in a gum tree inspired by the actual piano found 32 feet up a tree after the floods.
The restored Copperfield store was a museum but is now closed. There is still a sign with information but not much else.
Day trip from Clermont, or one can camp here for 15 dollars per night. Today the views of the full dam were like a postcard.
