Guadarrama National Park

Last night left our hotel at 9pm to go out for drinks and tapas before heading off to the world's oldest restaurant for 10.30pm dinner. Fun night with great food and Spanish musos who performed in the restaurant from about 11.30.
Today went for a 9km walk in a national park - took about 4 hours. Terrain varied from flat and rocky to a moderate rocky incline then a similar downhill trek. Picnic lunch near the river then more walking through pine forests and then finally on a flat road back to our driver. Saw Griffin vultures and Eagles on the way.
Stopped and had a well deserved cool drink on the way home in a pretty village which had its own cathedral and palace with beautiful gardens. The palace was once lived in by James V, Louis IVX's grandson.
