Waihopuhopu (Kaiaua)

We sadly left our spot for the POP site about 18km away and stopped at Kaiaua for brunch. The POP site had been a delightful surprise – we parked in an orchard near a mandarin grove, just 100m from the Firth of Thames. The dogs had plenty of room to run; Diesel is mostly trusted off-lead, while Marley is still learning and stays tethered. Cousin Natalie and Steve came from Auckland with a lovely picnic lunch, and soon Jude and Barney joined us. We spent a few hours at the Kaiaua pub enjoying drinks and good conversation. Later, we all relaxed at camp with a steak and salad dinner.Leggi altro
