Glacier Express...all day train

The service is amazing and it is an 8-hour course of food....and we're not doing the wine pairings! It is a gourmet restaurant on RR tracks. And you never know what is outside the windows. The Furka tunnel was over 9 miles long through a mountain. A giant Dam in the middle of nowhere, and quaint town after quaint town. The Landwasser Viaduct was also a highlight. It is 65 meters high and 142 meters across the Landwasser River Valley. Apparently it is yet another UNESCO World Heritage site. It was built in 1901 and came near the end of the 8 hour trip. We both emerged in a food coma....
Upon arrival at our hotel most everything was already closed...but we walked around for a bit and took some beautiful pictures of the still frozan Lake Moritz and some really awesome architecture right near our Hauser Hotel.Read more
