CP Day 2 To Vila do Conde

Today we hiked 17km in 4 hours from Perafita to Vila de Conde. Another pleasant day walking mostly along boardwalks by the ocean. The surf wasn’t as rough as yesterday but waves were still crashing. We stayed in our first pilgrim albergue of the Camino. It’s first come, first served. We arrived shortly after 1pm and were the first pilgrims there so we knew we were going to get a bed….well actually bunk beds. We love the vibe of pilgrim hostels as we are all doing the same thing. This is where you really make connections with other pilgrims. We had a communal dinner tonight with people from Germany, Sweden, Ireland (lives in London) and Russia but she now lives in Manhattan. By far our cheapest day on the Camino, accommodations and dinner for 2 was €40. And we picked up a nice bottle of Portuguese red wine for €1.99. It doesn’t get any better than that.Leer más
