    A Jaunting Good Time

    28 september 2023, Ierland ⋅ 🌬 55 °F

We left Dingle and headed east to the Gap of Dunloe. This was the first of a few stops that we made along the Ring of Kerry. We arrived at Kate Kearney's Cottage and was able to get a jaunting car to take us through the Gap of Dunloe. The Gap of Dunloe is a narrow mountain pass forged between the MacGillycuddy Reeks and the Purple Mountain ranges by glacial flows. Once again, there was a mist in the air and thick cloud coverage but that didn't take away from the beauty of the area. We rode past the Wishing Bridge and to the Head of the Gap of Dunloe before turning around and going back to Kate's. Our jaunting cart driver recommended a viewing spot, the Aghadoe Overlook, that overlooks Lough Leane and the Killarney Valley so we drove by there on the way to Ross Castle.Meer informatie
