Mauao and Mount Maunganui Hot Pools

Terrible weather today, but we braved the elements and made it to the top of Mauao an extinct volcano on the mouth of the harbour. Even found a trig point. By the time we got back to the bottom we were drenched, so warmed up in the natural hot springs. These are the only salt water springs in New Zealand and were just what we needed.Read more
