  • Cenotes

    15 Mei 2015, Mexico ⋅ ☀️ 20 °C

Tulum is known for their dozens of great cenotes, which are giant sink holes. We biked to the Grand Cenote. The water is nice and cool and there are half a dozen turtles swimming around. The water is so clear that you can see everything on the bottom. Pictures cannot do it justice.Baca lagi

  • Beautiful Belize

    18 Mei 2015, Belize ⋅ ⛅ 30 °C

Belize has the second largest barrier reef in the world next to The Great Barrier Reef in Australia. The islands by the coast are absolutely amazing. It took us all day to get to Caye Caulker, but it was worth it. Met a group of friends along the ferry ride down: 2 Germans, 1 Hong Kong American, 2 Kiwis, and shared some great stories togther. Only traveling like this brings people of different background together on a small island. It is moments like this that make us smile.Baca lagi

  • Caye Caulker

    19 Mei 2015, Belize ⋅ ⛅ 31 °C

Spent half a day fishing snappers by the reefs. Our guide first went to catch some bait fish by the mangrove forests with cast nets, and then took us to 3 different fishing sites. We both caught 5 snappers and 1 ballon fish (cute little suckers that blow up into bubbles!) Cooked up the snappers in a meal for our new friend! Good times!Baca lagi

  • Tikal

    24 Mei 2015, Guatemala ⋅ ⛅ 32 °C

Most people stop in at Flores to visit the great Mayan site Tikal. This is one of the largest Mayan site discovered. It was estimated that as many as 90,000 Mayans may have lived in this ancient city. The park trails are partially in the jungle. We saw monkeys and coatimundi, and heard the loud and scary sounds of howling monkeys. Oh and did I mention Star Wars was filmed here? A wonderful experience!Baca lagi

  • Long bus rides

    25 Mei 2015, Guatemala ⋅ ⛅ 25 °C

One of the most trying thing about Guatemala is traveling from one destination to another. The transportation system is limited to pretty much 2 options- fly expensively or take a long bus ride/ shuttle ride. Most budget friendly travelers such as ourselves have to go ride the shuttles. This particular one was 9 hours from Flores to Lanquin, stopping through Coban. Exhausting!!!Baca lagi

  • Antigua

    28 Mei 2015, Guatemala ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

We are surprised by how charming Antigua is. The whole city is a UNESCO site and has been kept up and restored well. The streets are cobble stones and the old church ruines are very interesting. My photos look like they were taken somewhere in Europe! Food is excellent in this city and you can easily explore lake Atitlan and 2 volcanos here.Baca lagi

  • Volcan Pacaya

    30 Mei 2015, Guatemala ⋅ ☁️ 27 °C

It is not often that one gets to hike an active Volcano. Amazingly the city of Antigua is situated among 3 volcanos, and we have decided to hike the easier Pacaya, while our New Zealand and UK friends braved the front and did the overnight hike, calling us sissys. After 1 hour uphill through the forest, and 1 hour up and down the gravels. We did'nt mind being sissys. The climate changes rapidly from tropical to high-lands, and then cloud forest. We were rewarded with marshmellow roasting by the hot lava rocks. A very fun, and not self-torturing hike!Baca lagi

  • Masaya Volcano

    2 Jun 2015, Nicaragua ⋅ ⛅ 31 °C

Nicaragua has about 20+ volcanoes and naturally one of the most popular thing to do is to hike them. The crater of Masaya volcano can be reached by car. The Spanish settlers used to call this crater "El Diablo" because the indegenous people used to throw women and children down the crater as human sacrifices. The sulfer smell is intense and the view down the crater is amazing. The night tour we went on also took us to see lava cave and bat cave.Baca lagi

  • Ometepe

    4 Jun 2015, Nicaragua ⋅ ⛅ 29 °C

The island of Ometepe was the highlight of our trip in Nicaragua. Everywhere you go, there will at least be one giant volcano in the background. The island has beautiful beaches and rustic villages. Riding the motorcycle and sharing the roads with cows, horses, and pigs. Enough expats have come here and opened up decent western restaurants, but the local lunch platters have not failed us a single time.Baca lagi

  • Jaco

    13 Jun 2015, Costa Rica ⋅ 🌙 13 °C

Arrived at one of the world's famous surf spot. For those of us who cannot ride the big waves here, there is a un-marked forest trail up the Miro Mountain. There is a beautiful look put to Jaco beach. I also saw 8 monkeys, 3 coatis, 1 poison dart frog and bunch of birds and lizards.Baca lagi

  • San Gerardo de Dota

    17 Jun 2015, Costa Rica ⋅ ⛅ 16 °C

Salmon fishing in Yemen? No. Trout fishing in Costa Rica! Cannot believe that there are actually trout in Costa Rica! Apparently the spring water up in the mountains are cold enough that some Americans introduced several trout species here back in the 50s. Fishing was fun but we didnt really have the right bait. Also did a fun hike to 2 watefalls. Got my hiking fix today!Baca lagi
