• Day 38, Cochabamba

    February 10 in Bolivia ⋅ ⛅ 14 °C

We had no breakfast in this hotel, so we ate waffles with fruit in a cafe somewhere in the streets.
After we ate the fancy waffles (€2,40 pp), we went to look for a bus or minivan to torotoro, it was a bit hard, because they mostly sell it in expensive tours. No luck so we went back to the hotel and asked.
A bit far away was a minivan company, so we went with there with a taxi. It would cost us 45 bolivianos in a minivan to torotoro tomorrow at 08:00. On the other side of street was a barbershop, so Eike went to cut his hair. The guy cut him exactly like Eike wanted and it costed as much as the tiny beer at the concert in La Paz! Awesome, latino flow!
We walked in the city an did a bit of sightseeing. Nina bougt a new pair leg warmers, which were also cheap since it is 28° here 😅 Cochabamba is a much nicer city than La Paz, it is much more green and the climate is more like the jungle, but in the city. We have to say it has a nicer atmosphere. We are still at 2500 meters, but there are palm trees, parrots and sadly also moskitos here. We walked around a bit more and found a vegetarian and vegan restaurant and had a very nice meal with different things. We ate a cherimoya ice cream and walked a bit more for the digestion. We were very full! We enjoyed the evening sun and walked back to the hotel, where we wrote some pinguin stuff.
We went out again to get some water and food for the road tomorrow, and we also went for a drink in el baron rojo. There, the bar tender asked us for some songs to play in the bar, so we kept it a bit calm and wrote down ace of spades, jailbreak, i walked with a zombie and painkiller.
They played them all! We sat down at the table of Abath and Niki and we learned a new dice game. It was a bit like yatzee, but different, because the eyes on the otherside count too. We felt like staying more, but we decided to go to the hotel because we have to get up really early tomorrow! Eike met some punks from argentina and hung around with them for a bit.
We felt a bit sad that we spent so much time in La Paz and so little in Cochbamba.
