A travelling day. We took the inland roads through the Blue Mountains National Park via the Bells Line Road then onto Putty Road, which brought us to where we are staying for a couple of nights. The journey covered about 300k and about 80% of it was through fire-damaged landscape. Many hillsides were burnt out on either side of the road. However, the trees were already showing signs of regrowth and the area is becoming green again. Traffic on this major road was few and far between.
We spent a lazy day sorting out provisions for the next week. On leaving Singleton we drove past very large open cast mining areas - coal is the major industry in the area.Read more
