Big Adventure

Thursday was a major re-stocking day, on which we hit the supermarket to buy enough to see us through the next three weeks of lock down.
At the weekend we completed some walks around the area once again -on both Saturday and Sunday managing to dodge the showers that were coming in from the south. On Sunday the spring tide was high and the onshore wind made the sea quite exciting.
On Monday we completed part three of The Solent Way. This time we drove once again to the monument at Lymington then set off walking eastwards across the countryside, passing the golf course and cricket grounds on our way. The walk was predominantly flat and the countryside mostly open fields, we passed a couple of sites which were used by the RAF in WW2 for the D Day campaign. Alan has been reading the book by James Holland which gives a very good account of the unfolding action on D Day, then beyond as the war progressed into France, from both the Allied and German perspectives. We don't know how lucky we are - anyone whinging about a lockdown should be made to read J Holland's accounts of the sacrifices made all those years ago.
After five miles we reached the ruined church and barn at St Leonards, at which point we turned back to retrace our steps on the same route. Just over 10 miles in all.Okumaya devam et
