• 1770 LARC tour

Checked in a bit early to our LARC tour, but the lady directed us around to a bar on the marina while we waited, perfect. Our tour guide was Jess, she let us know later that her surname is Cook and her dad was pretty excited when she first got her skippers ticket/licence. She also laughed about how its probably the only reason she got the job. The LARC is an ex military vehicle, it doesn't stand for land and river craft, of course Ben knew it stands for Lighter, Amphibious, Resupply, Cargo. So basically, boat/truck, ha! We did the 1 hour tour, we did get a little longer as the tide was really high so we had to go a bit slower at parts because we were in the water for longer than usual. Lots of sandbanks and lots of great stories from Jess. It was a great tour, when we come back, we'd be keen on doing the whole day tour I think. When we landed, we noticed that the fish and chip shop was open and there was a massive line up. However we'd planned to have dinner at the tree bar, just up the road. We went for a drink, but realised they'd changed their menu to what was online, so we headed back and had the delicious fish and chips instead. Back to camp to quickly set up, shower, avoid the damn rain and watch some netflix before bed.Lue lisää
