• Woakwine cutting and into Mount Gambier

We spotted Woakwine cutting on Google maps, only just off the main road we were on, so we popped in for a look. Over 3 years, 2 men and some machinery removed 276000 cubic metres of material to drain a swamp on their property. In only 3 years! Very impressive. We decided to skip Beachport, the wind is just ruining the vibe a bit and killing our fuel consumption. We had a quick stop at Millicent for fuel, then headed to our camp for the next 2 nights at Pine Country, Mount Gambier. What a wet and windy night, not great at all and super miserable. The shower was crappy too, considering we paid for an ensuite, hot and cold, hot and cold, ughh. Moods were not fab. We ordered Thai from Wild Ginger which Ben picked up while I made jokes about Noah. Kind of an early night, but no one slept well as it was so cold and the canvas hasn't been properly seasoned yet, so there were quite a few damp spots.Read more
