A day on the beach and school visit

    September 22, 2018 in Tanzania ⋅ ⛅ 25 °C

Up early for a quick dip then at breakfast o e of the cooks said she would take me to see the headmaster at the local school so I could unload the things I had brought for them.
What an eye opener... 2500 pupils and 8 teachers. They have to teach the classes in shifts one group Mornings and the next in the afternoon. Very few chairs or desks with the kids sitting on the floor and only one computer in the whole school and that's in the office.
Yet despite this the children are taught 3 languages English Arabic and swahili as well as basic maths in the secondary they are also taught civils which is a mixture of politics and general studies.
