Phew - glad to be back at our place! We have walked nearly 10 miles!! Met up with my brother, sister in law and nephews. We went to to Grenville market and then walked along by the river. Late lunch with the much needed beer! Then onto Canada Place to watch more boats and sea planes.Read more

It rained last night so really cleared the air! No smoke from the wild fires in Vancouver anymore.
Cycled around Stanley Park - about 10 Kms. Beautiful ride around the sea wall and then into the forest. From there we cycled along the river to Gastown - very touristy!Read more

Picked up car and rendezvous with Martin and Tracey. We all travelling up to Whistler. Stunning views on the way. Stop for lunch at Squamish.

What a fantastic day. Picked up by Robert at 7am - stunning views on way down to Squamish for White Water Rafting experience.
There were 16 in our group plus Rob and Ted in their kayaks. All suited and booted in rubber including very fetching booties with life jackets and helmets to put in when there.
Very bumpy journey in an old yellow school bus!
Very scary health and safety talk ending with what to do if capsized! There were 8 in each raft - ours included Michael, Martin, Tracey and Chris plus Ted's family. Our helmsman was Will - he did most of the work!
We went down 20 kms of river in total - several sections of rapids. Stunning scenery all the way down with mountains in the background.
Some of us went for a swim - mine helped by my brother pushing me in! The water was freezing but refreshing.

Hen night!
Started at vodka ice bar where we got to sample 4 different vodkas - local, botanical, expresso (yummy) and finally coconut!
From there into restaurant - fizz and food. Ended evening in nightclub where started with free fizz and joined by boys! Michael and I strutted our stuff on the dance floor!Read more

Day 10 - canoeing

Spent the day exploring our locality! It's so beautiful. Went out in canoe - down a narrow creek to the main lake. We had to navigate through fallen trees and weed in the creek. Main lake called Roe to ourselves so canoed all the way round. Saw Bald Eagle, loons kingfishers and blue heron.
Drove down to Little Fort and had meal on way back at Italian - expensive but stunning location.
Back out in canoe late afternoon - saw adult Bald Eagle drinking at side of lake - amazing! Early night!Read more

Day 11 - Wells Grey National Park

Drive up to Clearwater and visited the information centre. Really helpful - pointed out where to go to get best out of day.
Visited all 3 water falls and each were spectacular in a different way. Helmkman the highest, Dawson the widest and ??. We saw a bald eagle at deer creek, went up the mountain road to look out at surrounding mountains and Rays farm.
At ??? we watched salmon jumping up to spawning grounds.
Really full day - stopped at Hop n Hog for dinner - sharing meat platter for 2. Wonderful!Read more

Lazy morning - opened cards and sat on our veranda! Went for bike ride but it was v hot! Got as far as Bridge Lake.
Planned to swim in afternoon but wind changed and smoke came our way so had drive around.
