• Town Beach for rising full moon

    18 de octubre de 2024, Australia ⋅ 🌬 28 °C

It's full moon tonight - would be staircase to the moon in Broome, so we're here to see what the rising moon over the sea does here in Exmouth. We're not exactly sure what time it's going to happen tonight here - our googling tells us 6.47pm in Broome, so surely it will be similar here.....
We've driven down - bringing along our esky with meat to BBQ and salad prepared. Chilled bottle of bubbles - forgot our drinking vessels, thankfully got some plastic mugs in the ute and camp chairs.
We set up beside the closest public BBQ to the carpark - position our chairs facing the sea. Ready for the action when it happens. After settling with our drinks Roger figures he'll start the BBQ ready to cook.....oh dear no go! These BBQ's (2) aren't working. No big deal, we'll have tea later when we get back to our caravan. Now 7pm comes about - and it's pitch dark....now worried that we've 'stuffed up' and may have missed the right night? All works out - moon appears rising over the sea around 7.25pm. Beautiful sight - may not have the full 'staircase' as not reflecting off sand bars like it would low tide in Broome, but still darn good reflecting on the water here. Enjoy this on the top of the beach near the park area. Reasonable amount of cars on the beach with plenty of people there to enjoy it too.
