Friendship and Hospitality in Bounana

We got talking on the bus from Marrakech to Zagora and Driss invited us to his family's home. On Eid al-Fitr we took a taxi to the small village Bounana. After some Maroccan tea Driss and his brothers showed us the ancient parts of Bounana and the Palmeraie close to the beautiful river Draa. After that we were invited to delicious couscous prepared by Driss' mother and sister. Thanks to Google Translate we could have very interesting conversations. It was a unique experience for us and we are honored to be the first guests from Europe invited by Driss and his family. Thank you very much!!

As Driss is studying law in Marrakech we had the chance to meet him again two weeks later when we returned. He showed us some new spots of the city and we enjoyed drinking fruit cocktails in Daoudiat - so tasty!!
