Biking the Bridge & Sausalito

A must do when visiting San Francisco is biking across the Golden Gate Bridge towards Sausalito. Before heading to the bike rental shop we took the cable car to Lombard street - for all of you who don’t know what Lombard Street is, it is the really curvy and flowery part of Lombard Street in San Francisco. The street itself is just weird 🤣 but the setting and all the colorful Flowers’s day houses on that street are just unique 🌺🌸😍.
From Lombard Street we walked all the way (downhill 🤩💪🏼) to the bike shop. We rented the bikes with a combination tour of Alcatraz Island (otherwise (we didn’t know that) you would have to book Alcatraz two months in advance during summer holidays) for a total of 48 hours 💪🏼🚴🏼‍♀️. First stop of the route was Auntie Vera’s and Uncle Don’s old apartment on Fillmore Street right down at the marina. A beautiful house in a top location 😍.
From there we biked along the Marina Blvd all the way to the Bridge. A scenic drive along he coast. We stopped for some pictures, realized that the fog was coming and hurried to drive to the bridge, hoping to beat the upcoming fog 😂. The ride in the bridge was nice, but super touristic and crowded. We shared the lane with bikes and pedestrians going both directions 😆. Also it was super loud! Finally on the other side, we had an amazing view of the city and the bridge! Stunning!!!
After a couple of pictures we took of to Sausalito for the afternoon, some lunch and a little break. 🥰 Tomorrow: Alcatraz Calling 😍.

Ein absolutes Muss, wenn man San Francisco besucht: Fahrradfahren über die Golden Gate Bridge bis nach Sausalito! Doch bevor wir zum Fahrradverleih fuhren, nehmen wir noch schnell das Cable Car zur Lombard Street - für alle, die nicht wissen, was die Lombard Street ist, es ist der sehr kurvenreiche und blumigenTeil der Lombard Street in San Francisco. So eine Straße habe ich noch nie gesehen 😂 - wer kommt auf die Idee?! Die Straße selbst ist einfach nur seltsam 🤣, aber die Umgebung und all die bunten Blumen und Häuser auf dieser Straße sind einfach einzigartig und schön 🌺🌸😍.
Von der Lombard Street aus liefen wir den ganzen Weg (bergab 🤩💪🏼) zum Fahrradladen. Wir haben die Fahrräder mit einer Kombi-Tour nach Alcatraz Island gebucht. Ansonsten (das wussten wir nicht) hätten wir Alcatraz in den Monaten Juli und August zwei Monate im Voraus buchen müssen! Die Räder hatten wir für insgesamt 48 Stunden gemietet 💪🏼🚴🏼‍♀️. Der erste Halt der Route war die alte Wohnung von Tante Vera und Onkel Don in der Fillmore Street direkt am Wasser. Ein Mega schönes Haus in einer Top-Lage 😍.
Von dort aus radelten wir entlang des Marina Boulevards bis zur Brücke. Eine malerische Fahrt entlang der Küste. Wir hielten an, um ein paar Bilder zu machen, erkannten, dass der Nebel aufkam und eilten schnell zur Brücke, in der Hoffnung, den kommenden Nebel 😂 zu besiegen. Die Fahrt auf der Brücke war schön, aber super touristisch und Mega voll. Wir teilten die Fahrspur mit Fahrrädern und Fußgängern, die in beide Richtungen fuhren/liefen 😆. Außerdem war es super laut! Schließlich auf der anderen Seite angekommen, hatten wir einen fantastischen Blick auf die Stadt und die Brücke! Atemberaubend!!!!!!
Nach ein paar Fotos machten wir uns auf den Weg nach Sausalito für den Nachmittag, ein Mittagessen und eine kleine Pause. 🥰 Morgen ruft Alcatraz 😍.

Ps. Wir haben auch noch eine Nachtfahrt mit dem Cable Car gemacht 🤩Lue lisää
