Noumea, New Caledonia

We took a ferry from Noumea to Amedee Island where we went snorkeling. I had a white and black striped sea kite snake swim about 2 feet from me and as it passed, I slowly move backwards away from it. I pointed it out to Doug as it swam away. These snakes are 10 to 20 more venomous than a cobra, but luckily they're quite docile! We found several young green sea turtles munching on sea grass and just hung in the ocean, watching. Wonderful!Read more
