  • Permulaan perjalanan
    8 Mei 2025
  • Hi de hi from Dubai!

    9 Mei 2025, Emiriah Arab Bersatu ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C

5 hours stopover - took us a while to realise why people were looking at us having a drink at 9 in the morning - when we were in 3pm mode!!
Loving the Priority Pass Lounges! Doing the rounds lol

  • Sun Princess

    10 Mei 2025, Greece ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

Had the morning to explore the city before embarking the cruise. Athens is literally covered in Graffiti- Anarchy still very much present. The Police were preparing in the morning for the usual Saturday night riots! Saw the changing of the guard on the way to the ship.
The ship is stunning! The newest in the Princess fleet - 20 stories high! It’s enormous. We lay around the pool on deck 17 all afternoon, went to dinner with some Aussies and had an early(ish) night.
Managed to squeeze a Haka in lol

  • Mums in Mykonos

    11 Mei 2025, Greece ⋅ 🌬 16 °C

Arrived in Mykonos on Mothers Day! Today we split up - Trace and Debbie opting for shopping and the rest of us decided to hire a car and do a Tiki Tour of the island. Mykonos is gorgeous with whitewashed buildings everywhere. We ended up on the other side of the island at Super Paradise Beach Club - which was pumping! Ian had to manoeuvre some pretty hairy roads and we ended up having a traditional Greek lunch at a Taverna in Ano Mera.- including ouzo which came out in tumblers! A bit windy but the sun came out in the afternoon.Baca lagi

  • Ionian Sea

    12 Mei 2025, Bulgaria ⋅ 🌙 12 °C

Our first sea day gave us a chance to relax - well needed! We explored the ship which is huge but luckily we can track each other down via the Ships App ( which amused us for a few hours lol)
The Sun Princess has 21 decks and had its maiden voyage in 2024, so very new. It cost $1b USD to build. 4300 passengers ( 2000 Americans) lots of Aussies and Canadians and of course a few of us Kiwis 😎
The show last night was sensational- very professional production

  • A Tour of Kotor

    13 Mei 2025, Montenegro ⋅ ☁️ 17 °C

Our private tour guide picked us up from Bar after we had wandered around the markets ( and I randomly ran into a friend Donnell, who is on our cruise!) and we set off for Kotor and Peraste. The scenery here is very much like NZ and looking down on Kotor is like looking at Queenstown! From Budva we went over to Sveti Nikola island to the monastery and then wandered through the old town. Our guide was amazing and full of information. Coming back, we hit a road block after an accident had totally stopped traffic on the only road back into Bar! After 30 minutes of anxiety and our driver making frantic calls, the Ship said they would wait, so we got back onboard with minutes to spare! Drinks all round after that one!!Baca lagi

  • Corfu

    14 Mei 2025, Greece ⋅ ☁️ 21 °C

We had nothing planned for today so Ian and I wandered around the Old Town of Corfu. The girls grabbed a Hop on Hop off Bus and did a Tiki
Another beautiful place, bustling and vibrant.
We all got back to the ship around 1 so spent the afternoon lounging in the sun. I managed to ‘sneak’ onto one of the private decks but got caught and booted out lol
In the evening I had a special invite to the Captains Cocktail party which was cool hob-nobbing it!

  • Sicily!

    15 Mei 2025, Itali ⋅ ☁️ 19 °C

Arrived in Messina port to a rainy day which was bad luck as apparently the weather has been beautiful. We set off to Savoca and visited the famous Bar Vitelli where famous scenes of the Godfather were filmed and walked up to the Church of St Lucia. The scenery would have been amazing but cloud covered most of it. We then drove to Taormina which was nestled in the hills. We walked around the shops and up to the huge Greek Theatre that is currently being restored. We finished with an amazing lunch at a local restaurant ( which had been visited by Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn!)
Back on the ship we had far too many French Martini’s !!

    17 Mei 2025, Sepanyol ⋅ ☀️ 15 °C

Another day at sea today- seas are a bit rough so no sunbathing! We had another attempt at winning the Bingo jackpot 😩

Us girls played Yahtzee in the afternoon - accompanied by French Martini’s
    A nice relaxing day

  • Just like that we’re in Montserrat!

    17 Mei 2025, Sepanyol ⋅ ☀️ 16 °C

Barcelona put on the sunshine for us! We jumped on a train and headed to Montserrat to the Monastery way up in the hills. The Gondola was a bit hair-raising!
Montserrat is stunning and well worth the visit - although we were a bit rushed to make sure we got back to the Ship on time. We also did a quick trip to Basilica de La Grada FamiliaBaca lagi

  • Aboran Sea

    18 Mei 2025, Sepanyol ⋅ ☀️ 19 °C

Nothing like a day at sea for a bit of R and R! Sussed out the infinity pool - (attempted to do a synchronised photo shoot) spent the day in the sun and went for dinner to the Irish Pub. Ian had time to watch his F1 so he was happy!
    A few French Martini’s later…

  • Rock of Gibraltar

    19 Mei 2025, Gibraltar ⋅ ☀️ 17 °C

Walked to the rock and jumped in with a guide who took us up to the top- sensational views of Gibraltar, Spain and Morocco. The 2 pillars - one in Morocco and one in Gibraltar- called the Pillars of Hercules, in ancient times were thought to be the end of the earth ( back when they thought the earth was square) and if you passed the pillars you fell off the earth!
Went to St Michaels Cave , which ancient Greeks believed was the temple to Hercules. You can see the form of an Angel which is spectacular!
We then went up to the top of the rock, which is now inhabited by monkeys. They are by no means tame and apparently 3 different tribes populate the island and have their own domains- often killing each other over territory- one picked up a brick while we were there and threw it at an elderly couple!
The highlight of our trip so far was the WW2 tunnels - very emotional and absolutely mind blowing- the sheer size of them dug into rock .It really emphasises the importance Gibraltar had as a stronghold in the war. A must do on any bucket list for sure.

  • Happy Birthday Ian

    20 Mei 2025, Perancis ⋅ ☀️ 21 °C

What better way to celebrate Ian’s 65th than a champagne breakfast!
Last sea day for us on this cruise as well. Spent the day sunbathing and swimming in the infinity pool and then caught up with friends for drinks at 3pm before our early dinner booking at 5pm.
    Ian had a great birthday!

  • A day in Marseille

    21 Mei 2025, Perancis ⋅ ⛅ 18 °C

Beautiful day in Marseille, Frances 3rd largest city which has been around since 600BC!
Our driver picked us up and we headed to Aix-en-Provence, a lovely town and home of the painter Paul Cezanne.
We wandered through the shops and the old town- lots of fountains and beautiful old buildings. The town was built on top of a Roman city which was built on top of middle-aged ruins- you could see the ruins through a transparent floor - outstanding!
We then went to Cassis, home to 90% of wineries in the Provence region.
We wandered through the markets and had lunch at the wharf.
Our tour finished back in Marseilles at the Notre Dame - absolutely stunning and the views were awesome. You can still see the bullet holes in the castle from WW2

  • Cinque Terre

    22 Mei 2025, Itali ⋅ ☁️ 17 °C

Maria’s Birthday today! Arrived at Genoa , which has just under a million in population. Off we went to Cinque Terre
We visited the villages of Manarola, Vernazzola and Monterosso. We had lunch at a local Pizzaria which was beautiful. They gave Maria a lovely lemon tart and us all a Lemoncello shot!
Cinque Terre has been on my bucket list for years and It didn’t disappoint
Finished the evening at a lovely Italian restaurant on the ship to celebrate Maria’s birthday

  • Pisa and Florence

    23 Mei 2025, Itali ⋅ ☀️ 18 °C

Arrived in La Spezia and then drove through to Pisa. We passed the mountains of Carrara where they have the marble quarries - it looks like snow but it’s actually marble. Incredible. 90% of Italian marble comes from Carrara.
The leaning tower of Pisa is magnificent- a definite highlight of my trip so far! Luckily we got there before all the bus loads of tourists got there - it was still very busy
We then drove to Florence. What a stunning city! We had 3 hours to explore but it wasn’t enough! Leather everywhere and great shops.
We had a drink before we left at the plush Savoy Hotel ( we couldn’t find a wine window!)
A big day and last night on the ship.

Disembarked the ship- just like that 2 weeks gone!
Our hotel in Rome is so cool and quirky! It’s called Mama Shelter. Each room has cartoon masks haha
Checked in and chilled on the rooftop bar and listened to some amazing entertainment
The place came alive at night- a popular spot for the locals!

  • The Colosseum

    25 Mei 2025, Itali ⋅ ☀️ 22 °C

Jumped on the Hop on Hop off bus and did the circuit in the morning.I love Rome so much - every turn is breathtaking.
In the afternoon Ian went back to watch the F1 and us girls went to the Colosseum.
The sheer size of it and the grandeur remains ( even though the Vatican nicked all the marble lol)
Nearly got pick-pocketed. A guy got stuck in the train doors and said “help me!” Tracey jumped to the rescue and was trying to pull him in. He seemed to be stuck so I grabbed his backpack and swung him around to try and dislodge the pack and he pulled away and jumped back on the platform, dropping his papers on the floor. I looked down and realised my bag had been zipped open! He had been in my bag and the papers were mine!Lucky he got nothing ( except a bruised arm lol)
Had a nice dinner at a local restaurant

  • Roaming in Rome

    26 Mei 2025, Itali ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

We did 16000 steps today! Started at Trastevere wandering around the shops and alleyways, then to Trevi Fountain, Victor Emmanuel 2 monument, the Pantheon and the Vatican. The Trevi Fountain was being cleaned so we missed seeing it in full flow but awesome all the same. Hordes of tourists everywhere!
A great day but exhausting- we did buses, trams, trains and taxis today!

  • When I’m 64

    28 Mei 2025, Itali ⋅ ☁️ 21 °C

    Happy Birthday to me!
After a cooked breakfast lovingly prepared by Ian and a glass (or two) of Prosecco ❤️❤️ we took off to explore Lake Como
We went up to the top of Como via the cable car - 500m vertical climb. Stunning views from the top and a lovely Church.
We had a birthday lunch back down by the lake - the food here is amazing!
A guy busking on his electric violin was sooo cool - very European!
In all - a very memorable 64th birthday!!

Today we got the slow ferry to Bellagio- (3 1/2 hours) stopping off at all the little villages dotted around the Lake on the way
The weather has been stunning, so a great day for chilling on the ferry.
The Swiss Alps in the distance make for a spectacular backdrop.
We walked around the shops and had a lovely lunch in the village and then headed back around 4
    Fabulous day!
