Our Trek Home - Final Thoughts

    12 Temmuz 2024, Amerika Birleşik Devletleri ⋅ ☁️ 27 °C

As I’m writing this update, we are about 2 hours from Sacramento and the last leg of our trip home. Our travels began yesterday (7-11) at 8:30am as we left Nina Rumi campus and will conclude once we are wheels down today (7-12) at 11:00am.

Quick run-down of our travels back to warm showers, comforting hugs and Mike’s cooking!

    Nina Rumi —> 🚌 to Iquitos for shopping/lunch —> ✈️ to Lima —> ✈️ to Atlanta —> ✈️ to Sacramento—> 🚗 to 419.

Such emotion walking out the gates of the place we called home for the last week +. But want to know what didn’t enter my mind??? The question if we did enough, and if I was enough….

I struggle with enough… could I have done more? What could we have done better? Done more of? I mean, I’m getting better with my self-worth discovery but on trips like these, the enemy will and does attack. He tried! Cipro anyone? 🤪 But I truly believe in my deep dark 🖤 that Pastor David was our shephard. He would leave the 99 to bring back the 1… 🙏🏼

I can say with confidence, we left it all out on the field. Our hearts. Our souls. Our love for these people. Amen!🙏🏼

    LAST THOUGHT

One of our team members recommended a book, A Million Miles in a Thousand Years by Donald Miller. So I downloaded in Audible to give a listen and boy did it deliver…

In this book, The Art of War by Steven Pressfield is referenced. Miller references Pressfield when he states how every creative person faces resistance when they try to do something good or when pointed towards a distant horizon. The harder the resistance, the more important the task must be. 🤯 Mind blown! Enemy attacks!

Donald (not Trump) goes onto to say (and I’m paraphrasing here) that there are forces in this world that doesn’t want us to create beautiful stories! But God wants us to create beautiful stories… so my take-away?

Lean into the resistance, trust God and remember Pastor David’s words to me …

Do not see yourself as small but that with God in your heart, you are big and can do GREAT things!

LOVE YOU ALL! Thanks for all the ♥️ and prayers for our team. Power in prayers.

    God is good.
    ✌🏼🤍🙏🏼
