Day 3 - La Fortuna (Part Dos)

After checking off rappelling down waterfalls from my bucket list (pssst … this wasn’t on my list but I added it so I can check it off 🫶🏼) … the four of us met up with the other three for some natural hot springs.

Gang was all back together again!

Due to rainy weather, the trio wasn’t able to go to the Sloth 🦥 Park, so we suited up (a different kind of suited) and all headed to Baldi Hot Springs Resort.

Side Note: I’m not sure I’ve shared yet but La Fortuna is situated at the base of the Arenal Volcano. We’ve had a lava to share and I don’t think I’ve mentioned that yet. Now I have! And that knowledge can explain why there is an abundance of hot springs here.

After the last two days of activities… I was banking on plopping this bod into a steaming natural bath for a bit. While that is what happened … we managed to partake in Costa Rica’s own version of Cal Expo’s Water World. A pleasant surprise of FUN not on the menu. Lots of laughs and no concussions! 🤕

Must watch videos of Z, Mateo, Lil’ and Big Ang making some waves! Mick had a go at one slide too but way too easy for him and he got bored, so sidelined himself.

Making waves like we did gets one parched… so we left that pool and headed to a nearby swim up watering hole where we relaxed, chatted, laughed and saluted to no injuries! And saluted to that Carolyn can remain in vacay mode, and not have to put on her PT hat later. 😉 Win-win!

Relaxed and hydrated … back to the house for showers and then dinner at Restaurante Nanku - a TikTok recommendation that had some good reviews. A fun and relaxed atmosphere with a resident pup! Karaoke was an option but no-takers this evening!

I was down for Jesus or Snoop Dog sing-a-longs but just didn’t happen …

As for the resident pup … he intelligently took his position next to Mike (🤔 … sucker!). He waited patiently for his chance at a nibble of Mikes steak (that was flambéing - which I think this act tips off the pup as to who to hit up; just a theory). Mike didn’t disappoint (he usually doesn’t) and offered him a small piece. After that, he offered a potato but … no-go. The pup seriously tightened his lips and refused the bite like Z used to when I tried to feed him carrot baby food. lol. But the pup quickly loosened up when the next bite of beef was presented. Once the plate was cleared, he was off to the next sucker … He worked the room like a boss - armed with patience and a puppy-face no one can resist. Kudos pup!

As for our human pups … they enjoyed their “manly” beverages and just like that … Day 3 in La Fortuna was a wrap!

Pleased to report … we will be taking it easy tomorrow with slipping in Sloth Park before moving this party to Monteverde!

P.S. Added a few drone videos (with some funky edits) of our casa. Place is DOPE! Love these new edits Mike is doing. LCP videos will be getting a face lift soon! Ha!
