Chicago Day 2

Jeff went to Day 2 of his show and I went into the city again. Conveniently, the hotel was only 10 minutes from the Sears Tower and Sydney said I should go there so I did. Then I came back to the hotel and met Jeff and we went to south side Chicago. OMG. Pretty scary, but mostly sad. So much poverty. We went to hunt down sites from the 1893 Columbian Exposition, but didn’t find much. Frederick Law Olmstead designed Jackson Park and despite its neglect, the bones he created are strong. So much potential, but unless things change, it will just go downhill more. Too bad our past president isn’t concerned about his past community. Chicago teachers have been on strike for eight days. Kids out of school. Maybe I shouldn’t be surprised our Uber driver said people there don’t want the presidential library built there. 🤷🏻‍♀️Läs mer
