• Buck Palace to British Museum

    6 luglio, Inghilterra ⋅ 🌧 21 °C

After seeing the amazing Buckingham Palace and changing of the guard we walked through the famous St James’s Park and into Mayfair and Soho district. We grabbed a tasty hamburger at a very cosy albeit maybe questionable pub 😂 grabbed a takeaway coffee (hard to find a decent coffee in London) and kept walking till we came to the British Museum. We got into the queue that went down the street and around the corner but got through surprisingly fast. The front pillars are gigantic!! We had a rough plan of where we wanted to go. It’s hard to believe what you’re seeing as we wandered through the different Empires dating back through the history of the Bible. Egyptian, Assyrian, Roman, Middle Eastern artifacs.
So incredibly faith affirming and inspiring. I found a Roman platter that weighed 6kg. Imagine having to carry that around - glad they eventually invented melamine 🤣 It was extremely hot inside and so so busy. We were wilting and decided to head home after walking 17km and standing for over 8 hours!
We enjoyed the tiny roof garden deck at our apartment with a glass of wine and some crisps as they say here 👍 Dinner at a tiny Lebanese restaurant. The Baba Ganoush with pomegranate seeds was the best I’ve tasted. A big call! Still light here at 9pm! Love that 👏
We read of Samuel anointing David…“Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart. What a blessing we have a wise Father who isn’t impressed by the fancy uniform or imposing monuments. 🙏
