    The Leaving of Llangollen for Chirk

    An early start to the day to try to ensure no oncoming traffic met in the three sections of canal that were just a boat width. I went out a runner, as the early morning mist rose from the canal, to manage any oncoming traffic. The plan worked with just one boat needing to be given way to.

    Although we were followed out by two boats, a stop for breakfast paid dividends later. Now, having been overtaken by the two boats, we were able to follow them through tunnels and across Chirk aqueduct before mooring in Chirk for our overnight.

    After lunch and a quick vac up, we walked into the village to replenish milk and wine supplies. Ann found a sewing shop, 'Ooh it's open!' . We returned to the boat across the aqueduct with our supplies but on foot this time.
