    Rakatu Wetlands

    January 13, 2020 in New Zealand ⋅ ☀️ 18 °C

The last real stop on the way to Te Anau was at the Rakatu Wetlands.
This was actually the best stop for today as this is a really nice place to visit! The walk to the river was nice and easy until I had to climb over some fallen trees and a lot of branches. But that was actually fun and not to difficult at all. From the river, I had a nice view of the mountains around me.
I then also walked to the lookout point to get an nice view over the wetlands as well. I divided against the loop track from 2 hours as it was already pretty late and I still had a few km left to Te Anau.
