Road to Hamelin

After our last stop, we started to drive all the way through the Kalbarri National Park to get to Freeway 1.

It's getting even hotter, the longer we drove the hotter it got. When we stopped for lunch in Billabong in the middle of nowhere just a roadhouse, gas station and campground, it was 38 degrees! 🥵
Luckily we found a place in the shadow because we can't sit outside in the sun!
After lunch we kept on driving on this horrible straight road, it's really just going straight for like 150km or so?! Crazy!

Around 4 o'clock we reached Hamelin Bay Caravan Park where we will stay for one night.
Kara was, unfortunately, feeling pretty bad when we arrived so she was laying down in the shade straight away.
I gave her some company for a while and then started to build up our tents, took a shower and started to cook. It took her a long time to feel better but around 8 pm she was standing up again and joined me a little while for dinner though she didn't want to eat anything.
So we went to bed early today, just hard when some people can't keep it to a normal noise level... 😕Read more
