• Stromatolites and Shell Beach

    February 26, 2020 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 29 °C

Around 3 o’clock at night I woke up from the rain.
And it was raining for a while. Or not all the time but quite many showers, even a thunderstorm in between. But my tent was holding!! I am impressed I must say, well worth the 12 $ I was paying for it! 👍🏼😉

But anyway I couldn't fall asleep anymore so I was a bit tired in the morning. After breakfast I was feeling better and fresher again so we left the campground shortly past 9 am ready for new adventures.
The first stop ist just about 1km away, a short walk to the Stromatolites.
These are growing bacteria colony’s in the ocean that form kind of rocks together. It’s hard to explain. You may wanna google it!

After that, we drove to Shell Beach. The whole beach is full of shells, or the shells are the beach! Here is no sand anywhere!

The water of the ocean here is double as salty as the normal ocean due to high evaporation.
