Gumbo Shop

Was on my way to a fancier dinner when I passed this little place near Jackson Square. Gumbo was on my list of things I had to try, and Yelp gave this place decent reviews. I decided to deviate from my original plan and give it a try.

I ordered the Chicken and Andouille Gumbo with a Hurricane (another must try). It came out in less than 5 minutes with a side of bread. The gumbo was good, and the soft bread was great for dipping. The Hurricane was ridiculously sweet and very strong. I ended up taking most of it to go so I could sip it as I strolled around the French Quarter.Read more
