I had an opportunity to houe/pet sit here, and thoroughly enjoyed my 4 days here.
A 90 min train ride from Barcelona, Manresa has a population of 80,000. I was lucky enough to meet a local girl, who was on the ticket desk at Montserrat. We ended up chatting and I mentioned I was staying in Manresa.
We ended up having a beer that night in a local bar I would never have found...and met a girl who knew someone in Taupo!!! Small world...
I had a more personal visit in Manresa, thanks to my new friend, and even ended up being invited back to her parents house for dinner...at 10pm at night!! They reminded me of my patents...so very friendly and hospitable and interested in travel.
Oh, and I loved petsitting 2 gorgeous kitties...I was missing mine! Housesitting gives me a chance to relax in my own space...hostels are not private!!Read more
