    16.3 km, 48m ascent, 3 hours and 1 minute
    Today we left at 7am to try and outrun a huge storm that was forecast (31.6 mm of rain, thunder and lightening) for the area. We left with our walking friends Luca and Tanja and set the cracking pace of 5.4kph to arrive at our hotel by mid-morning. I was delighted to find a beautiful pool and quickly jumped in to have a swim under the darkening skies. By the time the storm hit we had hunkered down in our lovely room enjoying a lazy afternoon lapping up the luxury.Baca lagi

    We only had to walk for an hour this morning before we had the stunning Adriatic Coastline stretching out before us, beckoning us down to the waterfront. Our Swiss friends Tanja and Luca were waiting for us (they had spent the night in a different village) and we walked together to Duino. The water was clear and calm, the sun was pelting down and we were ecstatic that it was perfect for swimming. We have walked 700km across the alps for this swim and it felt glorious!Baca lagi

    A sensational day walking the Rielke Path with its stunning views of the Adriatic Ocean near Trieste. We struck gold with an upgrade to a Private Luxury Spa experience at the exclusive seaside resort at Portopiccolo - we had 3 glorious hours to relax and rejuvenate in absolute luxury.Baca lagi

    Lipica (Lipizzano)

    16.6 km, 340 ascent
    Walking through cool forest areas was a pleasant surprise for us today as we were expecting this high Karst area of limestone to be quite exposed and barren - the revegetated areas, made for great walking. The Lipica Horse Stud was quite a bizarre mix of magnificent gardens/fields and old run down hotel and casino. We attended a live equestrian show and tour but the real highlight was seeing over 100 Lipizzaner mares returning from the fields to their night stables - a truly beautiful sight.Baca lagi

    Bagnoli della Rosandra

    We loved the walking again today, through forests, along an old railway cutting and then through the spectacular Rosandra Gorge/Valley. We finished the day with a perfect rest stop by the creek where we could revive feet in the cold water with the sun streaming down through the narrow gorge.Baca lagi

    Muggia / San Rocco

    21.9 km, 570 ascent, 500 descent
    Another very warm day for walking but we set a cracking pace once we realised that a beautiful pool awaited us at our final destination. We actually managed to completely lose the trail (really for the first time) which resulted in a detour of bush bashing up a steep hill - we were pretty delighted to get back on track after this.
    We walked through the town of Muggia, right to the seafront and then continued on to the small port of San Rocco. It was a lovely final destination and we spent the late afternoon swimming and lazing in the sun then celebrated with a bottle of Prosecco and dinner at a small waterfront restaurant. The marina area looked lovely by night lit up by a full moon.    Baca lagi

    Our apartment here is fantastic with a full wall of sliding window/doors, opening up onto this wonderful view ....and a rooftop infinity pool. We have walked the 10km length of the Lungomare (over 100 years old and running from the lovely town of Volosko to Lovran), caught a taxi boat back along the coast, spent one day ‘Netflix binging’ when the rain set in and enjoying various seaside locations.Baca lagi
