    Barter Books

    April 25, 2019 in England ⋅ ☀️ 11 °C

We were up with the lark as usual this morning and decided to head to Barter Books in Alnwick as the weather forecast wasn’t great. We chose a good day as it was lovely and quiet. We had a choice of tables in the coffee shop, which is quite rare when we have been recently. Edward was in a good mood this morning and the coffee shop gave him an opportunity to be nosy, watching other customers around him. As is often the case he attracted several ‘awwws’ and smiles from those around.

After coffee we browsed around the shop, choosing one book for mum and dad and one book for Edward. Edward got to see the trains running around the top of the bookcases although it was a little lost on him. In a couple of years he will really appreciate them a little better.

We returned to the caravan for lunch and had a relaxed afternoon. Andrew tried out Willerby’s new washer-dryer for a couple of loads (including a bit of drying). Edward’s baby bath makes quite a useful basket for the clean laundry!
