The hustle and bustle of Colombo

    2月22日, スリランカ ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

After not traveling for a while and only going on small trips to Paris and Boston, i‘m back now with a 3 week trip around Sri Lanka.
I initially wanted to do another trip alone - but when my brother also did not have anything planned yet it just aligned and we decided to do a trip together. He actually suggested Sri Lanka which i‘m really happy about. :)
Our trip started by flying about 5 hours to Doha, Quatar. Once we were able to find each other in this massive transit Area of the Quatar Airport I was stunned by the cleaness and openess of the Airport. There is even a Garden where you can sleep and walk in.
The second Flight took around 5 hours as well, where Lorenzo and I tried to sleep.
After we arrived in Colombo, Sri Lanka we got a data plan, figured out the easiest way to the central Station downtown and took an Uber there.
What a Ride I have to say… luckily we suvived the crazy ride and ended up in the market district of Colombo Pettah.
Sooo many people, so much for your senses, so many different things to buy. I bet you can get everyting there.
Since we were so exhausted and the temperature was 30 degrees and the humditity was over 90 we decided to only walked through the market. We wanted to get to the central Station as quickly as possible. On the way we stopped at a typical Sri Lankan Cafe and had a Coffee, some tea and Sprite for hydration and Sugar. Definitely felt the First time connecting with some locals.
We then took the train to Galle. What we forgot was that we still had to wait another 3 Hours until it arrived.. Lots of waiting…
But we eventually Managed to find the right train (After we had to Jump out of a different one because it was not the right one 😅) and squished into the small corridor with 80% Sri lankans and 20% Tourists. Also Met again so many Germans. :D
For the first time in a while I felt like a Fish in a can. I definitely remember this from the Busses in Guatemala :D
After a 2h train Ride and about 1 h Delay we finally arrived at our First destination in Galle.
After such a long trip, being awake for more than 24h we could only get some Food in the end and had a celebration beer.
In the end we managed to arrive at our hostel in Galle after almost exactly 24h taking a Bus, airplane, Uber, walking, train and a tuktuk.
Now sleep and more of Galle and the Fort Tomorrow :)
