Yokohama

Zwei Tage nach Akihabara bin ich mit Timm nach Yokohame eingeladen worden, von Yuri, der Schwester meiner Japanischlehrerin. Genauer gesagt hat sie uns in das Izakaya, eine Art japanischer Pub, in dem sie arbeitet eingeladen. Das Izakaya ist in Yokohama, also eine Stunde Zugfahrt von Tokyo weg und leider entsprechend teuer. Allerdings hat sich der Abend sehr gelohnt. Was Yuri nämlich nicht gesagt hat: an genau diesem Abend wurde im Izakaya ein Geburtstag gefeiert und wir als Deutsche mittendrin. Japaner sind allerdings ein geselliges Völkchen sobald sie in einem Izakaya oder Restaurant sitzen, insofern war das alles umso besser. Nun ist es allerdings auch so gewesen, dass Yuir als Einzige gut Englisch konnte und wir uns mit unseren paar Brocken Japanisch durchgekämpft haben. Der Vorteil, dass wir abends da waren, lag darin, dass Japan bei Nacht erst wirklich imposant ist. Denn dann fallen alle Lichter auf und vor allem das Viertel in dem wir waren war recht modern und groß.

Two days after my trip to Akihabara, Timm and me were invited to Yokohama by Yuki, the sister of my japanese teacher, who works there in an Izakaya, which is basically a japanese pub. The Izakaya is in Yokohame, so roughly one hour by train from Tokyo, which means it's also pretty expensive to get there, unfortunately, but it was completely worth it. What Yuri didn't mention was, that there was a birthday being celebrated at the exact same time, so it was pretty lively in the Izakaya. Fortunately, Japanese are a very friendly in groups, when sitting in an Izayaka or restaurant, so it was no problem at all. The thing was, Yuri was the only one with good english so we were forced to try to make use of our very limited japanese but it was hilarious and we kind of understood what the other one was saying. A big advantage was being there at night, because in the night time, Japan is even more impressing since there are light everywhere and the district of Yokohama we were in, was pretty modern and big.Read more
