Hartland Quay to Bude

Today was the longest day of our trip at around 24 km and lots of up and down. The day started out windy and with spitting rain but eventually the sun came out and it was a beautiful fresh ocean kind of weather. We saw a few people along the path but for a supposed crowded holiday Saturday it was really pretty deserted. People seem to join the path from various access points and then leave it further along. There were quite a few valleys to descend and then to ascend on the other side. The path stayed very close to the cliffs and you had to watch for erosion. There really wasn't anywhere to get a tea or anything along the whole path today. We had to do one detour into the Village of Morwenstow as a section of the path was closed due to cliff erosion. We met a nice fellow and his Beagle out for a walk from the Village who walked with us a bit. There was a pub there but we didn't stay as we wanted to get to Bude before dinner hour. The cliffs are not so high as we approached Bude and the trail traversed grasslands with sheep grazing. We finally arrived at Bude around 5:30 and are staying at the Surf Haven B&B. Peter is the proprietor and it's a very nice place. We're going to try to get into a pub for drinks and dinner. A very nice day with beautiful ocean and cliff views.Okumaya devam et
