• Day 92 Ends @ Dash Point State Park

    August 2, 2021 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 73 °F

Our 125-mile drive from Leavenworth back to Seattle, and then onto the Car Rental Facility at SeaTac was uneventful. Even the usually terrible Seattle traffic cooperated, putting up no barriers to our speed along the way.

After returning the rental, we hopped in an Uber and headed to the Port of Tacoma to pick up the Cruiser and toad from Tote Maritime. The process was quick and easy. We would highly recommend Tote to anyone considering shipping their RV to/from Alaska.

First stop … top off the fuel tanks for both vehicles. And then we drove the very short distance to Dash Point State Park which is in Federal Way, a city in the Seattle metropolitan area. Check-in was not until 2:30p, but our site — B48 — was available so we pulled in and got settled shortly after noon.

This 50A FHU site is one of those half-moon, parallel to the road ones, which gives us excellent privacy on the patio side. And what a patio it is … huge. It’s where I am sitting at the moment, the awning open to cut down the glare while I write. Mui is at Costco, replenishing the larder for our trip back home … which will begin on 4 August.

It’s great to have clear air once again. And temperatures in the 70F range are simply divine.
