• NB Day 4: Ørnes

    We arrived at the dock in Ørnes, our mid-morning 10-minute stop, on time at 10:00a.

    One thing about being on a mail ship is that rarely is there a delay in arrival and departure times. The crew — on the ship as well as on the dock — have the whole process down to a science. So much so that the specially designed clam-shell gangway begins deploying even before we are tied up. I’ll try to get a video clip to show the process when I have the opportunity.

    A scenic sail-in took us to the dock where northbound port-to-port passengers were huddled in the doorway of the building that serves both as a terminal and a cargo warehouse. They were quick to come aboard as soon as the all clear was given that the gangway was secure.

    While I watched the proceedings from the window of our cabin, Mui donned his rain jacket and ventured out to the covered area on deck 8 midship to take some photos for me.
