Just before arriving in Svolvær, Hurtigruten's Kong Harald passes us on the port side.

Busses are awaiting our arrival to return passengers who left on an excursion at an earlier port.

NB Day 4: Wrapping Up with Svolvær

Our last port of the day was Svolvær in the Lofoten Islands.

m/s Havila Castor docked for under an hour at around 9:20p. Since we will have a longer daytime stop here on the way south, Mui decided to refrain from disembarking. Past his bedtime anyway 🤣.

P.S. Kong Harald, the Hurtigruten ship that passed us on our way up to Svolvær, was named for the then reigning King Harald V. Who knew at the time that we’d be sending our condolences to the people of Norway upon the king’s passing on 28 August 2026 … a little over two weeks later.Read more
