Grebe avec le cou noir

We returned to the Parc de la Brenne for more brilliant bird watching yesterday. Highlights included a night heron and watching some baby purple herons in their nest... but by far the best half hour was spent watching some black necked grebes feeding their babies. The young wait at the surface while the parents dive down for some food, and then pop up to their excited and hungry chick whom they feed immediately.
